Welcome to the Wowan/Dululu Multi-Purpose Centre

The Centre provides health and community services to the rural communities surrounding the Central Queensland towns of Wowan, Dululu, Goovigen and Gogango. Funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and Queensland Health is received by the Multi-purpose Centre for Community Aged Care Packages (CACP) and Home and Community Care (HACC). In addition to Domiciliary Nursing, other services available to clients under these packages include: Home Help/Home Maintenance, Meals, Transport and Respite Care.

Health clinics which include Doctor’s clinic, Physiotherapy, Child Health Clinic and Well Women’s Clinic are regularly held at the Centre. The Centre is also a central point for the Diabetes Support Group, 50-plus Group, Social Games and Craft Sessions. Computer and Internet facilities are available to the community through the Multi-purpose Centre's computer room.

In 2001, the Wowan/Dululu Multi-purpose Centre was chosen as the only Queensland site to receive funding from the Department of Health and Ageing for the Rural Chronic Disease Initiative (RCDI). This web site was developed as part of the RCDI to further promote the health and community services offered by the Centre.

The Wowan/Dululu Multi-purpose Centre aims to provide with respect and confidentiality, a reliable and caring service focussing on community needs.
