Services |
A Child Health Nurse visits the Wowan/Dululu Multi-Purpose Centre on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Please note that in some months there will be five weeks between visits. Consultations are by appointment. Information is available on a wide range of subjects such as:
Home visiting is available on an identified needs basis. For example: pre-term baby; multiple births; or mother is unwell. Additionally, programs such as Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) can be arranged if there is sufficient interest. Appointments are made by phoning the Biloela Community Health
Centre on 4992 1497 or 4992 2159. |

Access |
Computer and internet access is provided by the Multi-Purpose
Centre. Contact the Centre for bookings for the computer which is available

Fortnightly craft sessions are held at the Multi-Purpose Centre on Tuesdays, commencing at 9.30am. Projects completed so far have been:

What is a Community Aged-Care Package? A Community Aged-Care Package is a planned and coordinated package of community care services to assist a person who requires assistance because of their complex care needs. A Community Aged-Care Package is targeted at frail older people living in the community who prefer to remain living at home with appropriate and reliable support as an alternative to premature admission to residential care. Packages will vary considerably according to the particular needs of individual clients. The emphasis for some will be on assistance with activities of daily living and, for others, on managing the social and safety issues that arise. Community Aged-Care Packages will provide management of an array of services which includes monitoring and review of care needs. A small contribution fee is requested from clients. Some of the services available as part of the packages are:
How to access Community Aged-Care Packages: Contact the coordinator at the Multi-purpose Centre, who will refer the applicant to the Aged-Care Assessment Team (ACAT) for approval. Once this application is approved, the Centre will manage the designed Package according to the individual's needs. The Wowan/Dululu Multi-purpose Centre has been granted eight (8) packages for this area through the Department of Health and Ageing. |

| Diabetes Support
Group |
The Diabetes Support Group meets on the 4th Monday of each month. The Mt. Morgan Diabetic Educator visits each meeting to assist with education and provide support for diabetes sufferers and their family members. Concluding the meeting, a free and private consultation with the Diabetic Educator is offered. Visiting specialists including a dietician and a podiatrist are in periodic attendance. Morning tea is supplied. |
| Doctor's Clinic |
The visiting doctor from Baralaba operates a clinic every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon between the hours of 2.00pm and 5.00pm. This clinic is a private practice which offers bulk billing to its patients. Appointments are necessary, and can be made at the Centre. |

Professional nursing care provided in the home at Wowan/Dululu, Goovigen and Gogango or at the Multi-Purpose Centre. Services supplied by our nurses include:

| Fax/Laminating/Photocopying |
This service is provided to members of the community during office hours. Discounts are available for bulk photocopying. Further details can be accessed from the Centre. |
Sessions are held throughout the year on various subjects. Past sessions held have included discussions on Breast Cancer, Asthma, Osteoporosis and Arthritis. The Centre welcomes any suggestions for future education sessions. |

| Home and Community Care
(HACC)
|
The focus of the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program is on providing support to people living in the community as an alternative to premature or inappropriate admission to residential care. The Program is for people who do not require a high level of care as in CACP, but still need some assistance. It assists people in the target group who need basic maintenance and support services to continue living in the community with dignity. A small contribution fee is requested from clients. Services provided within the HACC Program include the following:

| Hoy | Hoy is held at the Wowan Museum on the second Thursday of every month commencing at 10.00am. Good prizes to be won. Morning tea supplied. A small fee is required to play. |
| Immunisation
Clinic |
The Centre is a registered immunisation service provider. Childhood vaccinations are available at any doctor’s clinic for:
All adult vaccinations available through prescription (including Hepatitis B) can be obtained at the Centre. |
| Physiotherapy
Clinic |
Physiotherapist, Fiona Ellis, visits the Multi-purpose Centre every Monday. If you have headaches, neck and back pain, pins and needles, numbness in your arms or legs, muscle aches or sprains she may be able to help you. For appointments phone the Centre on 4937 1119. |
| Podiatry Clinic | A visiting Podiatrist from North Rockhampton Podiatry visits the Centre every two months. Please phone the Centre for an appointment. |
| Social Games |
Social games which include card games of 500 and Euchre are held at the Multi-Purpose Centre every Friday morning, from 10.00am till 1.00pm. An enjoyable, social morning is ensured with morning tea being supplied. A small fee is charged. |
| Well Women’s Clinic |
The Well Women’s Clinic is conducted by Robyn Stoddart, the Mobile Women’s Rural Health Nurse. The clinics are brought to you by Queensland Health and are free and confidential. Your appointment can include:
